    Detailed Agenda for Session 1

    Welcome (5 min)
    – Introduction of Presenters
    – Acknowledgement
    – Introduction of Audience – Poll 1 (Audience, discipline, experience with CRT)

    What is CRT & why adopt it (10 mins)
    – Definition
    – General advantages of adopting CRT
    – Advantages of using CRT at community colleges

    Activity 1: Break out rooms (CRT definition and prior experience) (15 mins)
    – Participants will be assigned to a breakout room of maximum 4 members
    – Each group will pick one quote/thought from the presentation and elaborate on it (e.g., Did it surprise you; Did you identify with it; Did you have prior experience with CRT)
    – After the breakout room (10mins), each representative of the group will share the highlights of the conversation.

    SPISE Model: Practical Implementation of CRT in the classroom (20 mins)
    – Introduction of the five phases of the SPISE model
    – Example of implementation of the SPISE Model at Kingsborough Community College
    – Benefits and feedback from student and faculty

    Activity 2: Break out rooms (Brainstorming a CRT-infused learning activity) (20 mins)
    – Participants will be assigned to a breakout room of maximum 4 members
    – Each participant will share a proposed learning activity for their course and get feedback from their peers.
    – After the breakout room, coaches will remind participants that there will be many further opportunities to develop their activities over the next few weeks for the second session, but if anyone wants to share any significant points or ideas, they can do that now.

    Assessment of the SPISE Model – Continuous evolution (10 mins)

    Conclusion (10 mins)
    – Summary & Takeaways
    – Sharing of documents for creating the CRT-infused learning activity
    o Project instructions and description
    o Checklist and rubric
    o Surveys templates for assessing your learning activity- Post session 1 resources that participants will receive copies of the above documents and CRT-SPISE informational video
